To earn the trust and respect of our customers, we at First State Bank are committed to the privacy of all information in accordance with the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act which governs the treatment of non public personal information about consumers by financial institutions. We recognize the fact that our customers are our greatest assets, and the safekeeping of their confidential information is a priority for First State Bank.
We collect, retain and use information about you only for specific business purposes and we will tell you why we are collecting and retaining it upon your request. We use information to protect and administer your records, account and funds; to comply with certain laws and regulations; to help us design or improve our products and services; and to understand your financial needs so that we can provide you with quality products and superior service.
We continually strive to maintain complete and accurate information about you and your accounts. Should you ever believe that our records contain inaccurate or incomplete information about you, please notify us. We will investigate your concerns and correct any inaccuracies.
First State Bank employees are required and trained to follow procedures concerning the privacy and privilege of our customer information. These procedures include having a legitimate business reason to access information concerning an account. Procedures also exist and are followed that ensure no employee requests a cardholder to divulge their PIN in an oral or written manner.
It is our policy not to reveal specific information about your accounts or other personal information to parties outside our branches unless 1) you request or authorize it; 2) the information is provided to a reputable credit bureau or similar information reporting agency; 3) the disclosure is required by law; 4) the information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you or 5) you have been informed about the possibility of disclosure for marketing or similar purposes and have been given the opportunity to opt out or decline the disclosure.
If the Bank conducts business with third parties, it would require its vendors and suppliers to maintain the same standards of conduct regarding the privacy of personally identifiable customer information provided to them.
